Some are there to help learners develop their skills, others to encourage the Gaelic arts or to develop its use in business and government.   • An Comunn Gàidhealach An Comunn Gàidhealach is a voluntary membership organisation, with charitable status, founded in Oban in 1891 as a vehicle for the preservation and development of the Scots Gaelic language.
  • Gaelic Society of Inverness The site of the Gaelic Society of Inverness which was established in 1871 for the specific purpose of cultivating the language, poetry and music of the Scottish Highlands and generally furthering the interests of the Gaelic speaking people.
